Collage canvas prints are a great way to consolidate photos from special occasions or a period in your life that was full of good memories and love.
You could make a collage of your favourite wedding photos, from the “I do” to the first dance – with the option to include text with your names and the wedding date. Another great collage idea is to choose your best holiday snapshots and create a memory footprint of your travels.
When planning a collage we suggest that you consider the following:
- The total wall space / area that you have to work with (i.e.: width and height)
- Do you want all of the images to be the same size and orientation (i.e.: portrait, landscape or square)?
- OR a few large images as the focus, with smaller images between?
- Do you want them to be uniform, in a grid-like appearance, maintaining straight lines across the collage design?
- OR do you prefer a slightly off balance look where the images flow but don’t exactly line up?
- Have fun with it and create a story
Collages are designed according to the wall space that you want to utilize so you would need to get out a tape measure and make a note of the total height and total width of the area that you have to fill. You will then need to consider the number of images that you would like to include in the collage layout.
Example: A canvas size of 800mm height x 1200mm width to include 30 images of various sizes and orientations.
If you have seen a layout design that you would like to use as a guide then it would be a good idea to save a picture of that layout as a reference.
