Let's take a quick look at 3 easy ways to prevent canvas prints from fading.
Canvas prints hold a unique charm, bringing photos to life and immortalizing cherished moments. In this enlightening article, discover how to shield your canvas prints from the ravages of time.
1. Keep Canvas Away From Humid, Damp Environments 🌧️
Canvas prints, like any delicate treasure, suffer in excessively humid conditions. Despite the temptation to adorn your bathroom with the perfect print, it's crucial to resist. Tiny water molecules from splashes or steam during a hot shower can infiltrate the print, affecting the ink. To preserve your canvas prints, avoid hanging them in bathrooms, above sinks, or near stoves.
2. Avoid Placing Canvas in Direct Sunlight ☀️
Much like other artistic creations, canvas prints react negatively to direct sunlight. Natural ultraviolet rays initiate a process known as “photolysis,” breaking down chemical bonds responsible for colour development. Consistent exposure leads to a less vibrant print that cannot be corrected. To counter this, hang your canvas print away from windows, skylights, and other sunlight sources. Fluorescent lighting should also be avoided.
3. Keep Canvas Away From Extreme Heat 🔥
Heaters, fireplaces, and heat-generating devices pose a threat to canvas prints, impacting their overall quality. Prolonged exposure can lead to fading, warping, or splitting. Remember, canvas prints embody the creativity, emotions, and stories of artists. Safeguarding them from the forces of nature ensures you can relish these encapsulated moments for years to come.
Preserve the essence of your canvas prints — because every image deserves to shine through time! ✨
