Did you know that a 2017 report from Dimension Data found that 42% of the surveyed organisations in South Africa have employees working from home part-time and full-time? 67% say they will probably have employees working from home full-time within the next two years.

That being said, we personally know a lot of people who work from home, either employed full-time, freelancing or running their own businesses.
There are a few big advantages to working from home – like working in your PJs, avoid the drive to and home from work, answer emails from a hammock by the pool while sipping a pineapple daiquiri…just kidding.
(or are we ;))
Seriously though, working from home suits some more than others, but one of the perks is that you are not forced to conform to the often boring decor that afflicts many large offices.
You know what we’re talking about…
The matching corner desks that fall apart if moved to suddenly, the grey or navy carpet tiles that run from one end to the other, those vertical blinds that get stuck or bent if opened too quickly.
And let us not forget the wall art. Oh, the wall art can be the worst! Do gold frame landscape paintings of the countryside sound familiar? Or what about those old dusty wildlife prints that are so dull and dreary.
Having your own home office is more important than people realize. We’re not saying that everyone needs to have an entire room in your house dedicated to your working hours – that is not always feasible for everyone. What we are saying is that dedicated space to work in can help boost productivity and assist you in keeping your work and personal life separate, even if they are in the same room.
This space is yours to make your own.
Decorate your desk or table with a small pot plant (extra oxygen for those yawn days), some coloured stationery holders and maybe a set of buddy drawers to keep things organized.
But, we’re forgetting the best part…
Decorate the wall above your desk with something that inspires and motivates, or just downright amuses you. It’s your space so personalize it to suit who you are and what you do.
We have a few ideas for canvas prints in your home office.
Quotes
It may sound lame but the right quote can definitely help to change a mindset. Some very influential people have said profound things, and if there is a quote that sticks with you, and inspires you then you should have it printed and hung up above your workspace. We like the idea of mixing and matching canvas prints using quotes and images to create a sort of gallery wall vision board. Who knew that canvas prints could keep you on track to achieving your goals.
Images
Have you heard the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”?
It refers to the notion that some complex ideas can be conveyed with just a single picture, this picture conveys its meaning or essence more effectively than a description does. Canvas prints have a beautiful texture to them that make any picture pop.
Family
What are you doing this for? Most people work to make money – it’s a sad fact but it is what it is. Generally, it’s because you have someone relying on you. A picture or 2 of your family, the person (or people) that you are working for is a great reminder of why you work so hard and can motivate you to keep at it, especially on those difficult days.
Humour
It is extremely important to maintain a good balance. What’s that saying…work hard and play hard. We’re not suggesting you play too hard but bringing an element of fun into your workspace with canvas prints could be just the thing to balance things out a bit during the day. A funny poem or picture could be all you need to crack a smile after a tough business call.
On Brand
The most obvious suggestion would be to incorporate your business into the canvas prints on your wall, especially if you run a vlog, host podcasts or record videos to post on your social media pages or blog. You can incorporate your logo and images that reflect your business image and branding.
There are lots of options for you to consider for custom canvas prints in your home office. Just like everything else, have fun with it and don’t be afraid to get creative and try out something new.
